A Minecraft house rules a community: How the rules of community life influenced the design of an island home

This story is the first part of a three-part series that will explore how community-building is applied to the design and development of a low-income housing development in the Mojave Desert.

In part two, we’ll look at how the rules and norms of the Mojavian community shaped the design, construction, and installation of a Minecraft house, and in part three, we will explore the lessons learned from the project.

This post is part of the series “The Making of Minecraft: Mojave Survival House” which is being published in partnership with The Verge.
